2022 Album Fictional Festival Series: General Festival

I previously introduced this new series, which is a spinoff of previous Fictional Festival series, one only featuring artists who released albums in 2022.  This is the final post in the series and is a general across all genres.  For more information about the series in general, please see this post.

I used Lollapalooza’s lineup and schedule as a general guideline in arranging this festival.  I opted to stray from the format of the other festivals in this series because I find this setup to be more appropriate for this style festival.  As such, the festival is set up in the following manner:

·         There are 49 acts each day and co-headliners on each day.

·         There are 8 stages:  2 main stages, and 6 side stages.  One side stage is called the DJ Stage and has predominantly DJ sets and electronic artists, the other stages are labeled Main 1-2 and Side 1-5.

·         The timing is such that Main Stage 1 and Side Stage 1 each have at most one artist performing at a time, as do Main Stage 2 and Side Stage 2.  The other stages operate independently.

Some differences between this festival and Lollapalooza include the following:

·         I don’t have the co-headliners performing their sets at the same time, which is something that Lollapalooza and other festivals do, but I don’t like.  I have the bigger name on each day performing at a time as one other artist (a DJ set for 3 of the days and a jam act during the others).

·         One of the side stages at Lollapalooza is specifically a kid’s stage geared towards families.  While I think this is a good idea, I didn’t include this due to the nature of the series.  I replaced it with a general side stage, Side Stage 5, but kept the same times for each artist.  As such, the timing on that stage seems oddly spaced out without context.

·         I had times rounded to 15 minutes, so there are likely differences in timing for several slots in the lineups.

·         Due to the way I rounded the times, there are longer gaps between sets at the DJ Stage.  In actuality, I would want it even more extreme than how Lollapalooza sets it up and would prefer it be almost back-to-back sets throughout the day with no more than 5 minutes between sets at that stage.

After finalizing the lineup for this festival, 5 artists were replaced for various reasons.  There are also 2 acts with notes related to them.
