2021 Album Fictional Festival Series: Progressive Rock Festival

I previously introduced this new series, which is a spinoff of previous Fictional Festival series, one only featuring artists who released albums in 2021.  This is the newest post in the series is a lineup, a festival I will label as a progressive rock festival, though there are several genres incorporated.  I initially conceived the festival as a progressive rock/experimental electronic festival, but then branched into other genres, including experimental, post-rock/post-metal, noise rock, avant-garde, and more.  For more information about the series in general, please see this post.

Some differences between the setup of this lineup and the others:

·         The timing is different, allowing certain acts to perform longer.  I did this because many progressive rock, experimental, and electronic acts typically have longer songs.

·         Several bigger names are more scattered throughout the day.  There wasn’t a particular reason I did this other than ease of scheduling, but I had most of the hour sets for each day on the first Main Stage.

·         On each day, Side Stage 2 has a special theme; Friday has technical death metal, Saturday has math rock, and Sunday has industrial.  I mainly did this because when I first came up with this idea of a festival last year, I wanted to incorporate math rock and industrial in a bigger way and I stuck with it.
