Feeling Groupie

I previously introduced this new series, which is a spinoff of the previous Fictional Festival series, one only featuring artists who released albums in 2022.  This post discusses a lineup for a festival containing Christian music, including genres such as CCM, Gospel, worship, and Christian rock.  For more information about the series in general, please see  this post . This festival was set up totally differently than all but three discussed so far (the exceptions being the classic rock, Latin, and K-Pop+ festivals).  I only had one act at a time performing on stages next to each other; in this situation, the reason was more due to the nature of the festival and environment than anything else.  As such, there are fewer acts than other lineups.  Additionally, I had the festival end earlier than most of the others. This festival was set up totally differently than all but two discussed so far (the exceptions being the classic rock and Latin festivals).  I only had one act at a time performing on stages next to each other due to the potential added costs of bringing mostly acts from foreign countries (similar to how I set up the Latin festival).  As such, there are fewer acts than other lineups.  Additionally, I had the festival end earlier than most of the others. With the Grammy nominees being announced tomorrow, I want to share the submissions that I know. Every year, I learn of several through individuals online and for your consideration posters. This year, I know of just shy of 2500 submissions. If an artist has none listed, then I likely don't know their submissions (I also don't have a complete list of some artists included, such as Ed Sheeran, where I know one featured song that was nominated). In honor of my attending Riot Fest in Chicago, I am doing a mini-series where I rank each of the performances I saw.  While I’ve discussed Riot Fest significantly on my podcast, Groupie and Harmony, it is historically a punk festival, though it has branched out into other genres.  This year, the main stages (Cabaret Metro Stage and AAA Stage) are largely genre specific by day (Friday is pop punk based, Saturday is alternative/indie based, Sunday is metal based), the NOFX stage has punk acts with NOFX headlining each day, and the other two stages (Rise Stage and Radical Stage) are kind of a catch-all stage.
