Feeling Groupie

My last podcast episode discussed the top 10 albums of 2022, and this is a corresponding post.  I include every album I gave 5 stars, several that just missed, the best in several genres or conditions, and the worst of the year. On the morning of January 10 th , Bonnaroo announced their lineup, as they had advertised that they would; that day, so did several other festivals, including Boston Calling, Sonic Temple, and Coachella.  While I will discuss each lineup in an episode of my podcast (Groupie and Harmony), there is something I found interesting with this.  Coachella’s announcement was something that seemed scripted after over a month of speculation since the festival is occurring just 3 months after their lineup was announced (typically lineups are announced 4-6 months prior).  I believe that Coachella waited until Bonnaroo announced theirs and planned their announcement a few hours after Bonnaroo’s was scheduled. With the Bonnaroo lineup being announced on January 10 th and Coachella’s lineup likely soon to follow, I decided to make a tracker and predictions about who would perform at these two festivals and Lollapalooza.  All the information is based on rumors from sources that will remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the material (many came from Reddit groups related to the festivals) or from my research regarding artists’ schedule.  I have broken them down loosely into Confirmed, Rumored, Possible, and Out/Unlikely.  Some artist has a note next to their name that I’m keeping an eye on.
